We provide a rich learning environment, with an abundance of opportunities and continuously ensure that children have free flow access to both indoor and outdoor areas.
Children are made to feel safe and valued, allowing them to move forward and successfully reach their full potential. We view each child as unique, they have their own talents and interests, so they grow to become active learners, irrespective of their ability and background. Our team work together, with families and professionals, to meet each child’s individual needs. We continuously remain open and receptive to any suggestions for improvement.
Letterbox Day Nursery was inspected by Ofsted in March 2014 and the outcome was very positive. We were rated as a ‘Good’ setting. It was detailed in the report that the quality of teaching is good and that practitioners know the children in their key person group well.
That we use our observations of play to proficiently identify children’s learning needs. That we offer a wide and varied range of activities which enable children to make good progress in all areas of learning. It also detailed that children are effectively protected from harm through our clear policies and procedures. That all practitioners hold qualifications in safeguarding children and update their training through regular training courses.
That partnerships with parents and others are secure. That parents are provided with a good amount of information about our nursery. That parents are encouraged to play an active role in their children’s development and to help to identify their next steps in learning. That children are provided with very good opportunities to guide their own play. They freely access the exciting range of resources indoors and outdoors and are encouraged to transport equipment from one area to another to enhance their learning.
We are proud of our ‘Good’ rating and are happy for any feedback or suggestions in which will help us to improve and grow.
